Ivanov on meeting with Albright

Moscow, April 13 (Tanjug) - Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said in Oslo late Tuesday that a meeting of the G-8 foreign ministers would be held in a few days, at which the positive results achieved in his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright earlier in the day could be discussed.

Ivan confirmed in a talk with Russian journalists that he and Albright "had come to terms on some principal positions regarding a solution for Kosovo and Metohija."

The Russian Foreign Minister added, however, that the U.S. side insisted on discussing the matter with its partners so that "a step forward" would be taken by the G-8 meeting.

The meeting of the G-8 foreign ministers on a solution to the Kosovo and Metohija issue has in no case be taken off the agenda, Ivanov said, and set out that the holding of the meeting had been discussed in his talks with Albright and was now a topic of the day.
