Belgrade, September 24, 2001 - Director of the Agency for Environmental Protection of the Serbian Health Ministry Andjelka Mihajlov will visit United Nations headquarters in Geneva from September 24 to 27, where she will participate in a meeting of the working group on Protocol for strategic analysis of environment impact of the UN European Economic Commission (UN/ECE).

Mihajlov will attend meetings dedicated to preparations for the RIO +10 conference, which is to be held in Johannesburg in September next year. There will be talks on regulations of environmental protection and analysis of the environment in Yugoslavia.

Director of the Agency for Environmental Protection will discuss on the recently adopted Draft Law on environmental protection with EU experts in Geneva.

Mihajlov will also take part in negotiations regarding the Seminar on international conventions in the field of environmental protection in UNEP, UN, ECE and Agency for Environmental Protection, which is to go into effect from November 14 to 16 in Belgrade.

Andjelka Mihajlov was invited by UN/ECE as the focal point for the Aarhus convention for our country and director of the Agency for Environmental Protection of the Serbian Health Ministry.
