Djindjic calls Taqi for talks again
September 04, 2001

Pristina, September 4, 2001 - After Hashim Taqi's statement that he had not received any invitation from the Serbian Prime Minister, Zoran Djindjic told for Serbia-Info.com that the previous invitation was given via Hans Haekkerup, UN senior official. The Prime Minister reminds that on that occasion Taqi stated that it had not been time for the talks.

- Never is too late for our meeting when we discuss the missing persons - said Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, stressing that on Tuesday, September 4, he made another, written invitation to Taqi for the talks.

Hashim Thaqi, the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, told the news conference today that he had not received "any official invitation from the Serbian Prime Minister for the talks on the missing persons."

- The invitation was uncertain and we didn't take it seriously. I think those were media speculations, but I do not exclude the possibility of meeting the Belgrade officials. It is important for Kosovo that Albin Kurdi (former students' leader) and other Albanians should be released from Serbian prisons - said Taqi.

Taqi denied organized and planned Albanian crimes against Serbs in Kosovo.

- There were individual cases for which the criminals would be prosecuted in court. I have always criticized any crime and genocide, that is why I started to fight against Milosevic - Taqi said.
