Djindjic calls Taqi for talks again
September 04, 2001
- Never is too late for our meeting when we discuss the missing persons - said Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, stressing that on Tuesday, September 4, he made another, written invitation to Taqi for the talks. Hashim Thaqi, the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, told the news conference today that he had not received "any official invitation from the Serbian Prime Minister for the talks on the missing persons." - The invitation was uncertain and we didn't take it seriously. I think those were media speculations, but I do not exclude the possibility of meeting the Belgrade officials. It is important for Kosovo that Albin Kurdi (former students' leader) and other Albanians should be released from Serbian prisons - said Taqi. Taqi denied organized and planned Albanian crimes against Serbs in Kosovo. - There were individual cases for which the criminals would be prosecuted in court. I have always criticized any crime and genocide, that is why I started to fight against Milosevic - Taqi said.
