BELGRADE, August 29 - The Serbian Social Policy Ministry allocated funds for the disbursement of overdue payments to beneficiaries of the personal care allowance. The total funds provided are DIN181 million, and beneficiaries will receive DIN10,500 on average. Payment at the recipient's home address begins tomorrow and will be completed by Monday, September 3, 2001.

The funds are part of a US government donation.

The Serbian Social Policy Ministry has so far managed to reduce the waiting period for payment to social welfare beneficiaries from 32 to 12 months, and this newest payment will bring the backlog down to two months. In the months to come, the Ministry will pay out its obligations on a regular basis.
