Wwritten resignation of the former head of State Security Service Radomir Markovic was sent to Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica, Serbian President Milan Milutinovic, Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic and Serbian Interior Minister Dusan Mihajlovic on January 25, 2001.

"I ask that my demand for the dismissal from the post of head of State Security Service of Serbia be adopted.

I resign according to the promise I gave to Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica and agreement we had reached - that I should remain on that function until the new Serbian government is appointed."
