International Film Festival "Palic 2001" closed
July 28, 2001



Palic, July 27, 2001 - On the big summer scene in Palic presentation of the awards marked The Eighth International Film Festival "Palic 2001" closed.

The Golden Tower award was presented to Hungarian film "Passport" directed by Peter Gotar. Director of the festival Radoslav Zelenovic handed over the award to Tomas Baboss, young director of photography.

The Silver Tower was awarded to the film "No Man's Land" by Danis Tanovic was handed over to Dunja Klement, producer from Slovenia, whereas director Radivoje Andric who won the Bronze Tower for his film "Flash" personally took the award.

The critics' awards Fipresci were handed over to producer Marko Milankovic for the Yugoslav film "Land of truth, love and freedom" and to Igor Mirkovic for the Croatian documentary "The new, new time".

The award of the audience was given to "No Man's Land", "The Little Girl" and "Flash" whereas the Jury President, Russian director Georgiy Daneli pointed out that he would award the audience in Palic for great affection they showed for film.

The festival which began on July 20, presented 14 films in competitive part and many others in the non-competitive programmes. The film was officially closed by president of the festival's council Milena Dravic.
