BELGRADE, July 20 (Beta) - The Serbian government has issued a statement condemning most harshly the attack on the Serbian ministers during their visit to the "Zastava Group" in Kragujevac.

"Such acts of violence were organized by members of certain political parties who either had not managed to enter the parliament or, if they had, they use their political positions exclusively for their own personal goals, thus obstructing every effort of the Serbian government at improving the material status of its citizens.

Those responsible for the violent acts were not Zastava workers, which is additional proof for the government that the issue there was not an attempt of Zastava workers to protect their rights, but the transparent manipulation of the workers' justifiable concern for their workplaces."

In spite of yesterday's incident, the Serbian government is adamant to do its level best to thoroughly implement the economic reforms, which will enable all citizens in Serbia to have a higher standard of living and material security.

The Serbian government utterly supports the proposed program for the consolidation of the "Zastava Group" and sees it as the only way for creating preconditions for the company's rehabilitation and boosting the economy of the town of Kragujevac.
