The Dutch court can judge the legality of the arrest?
July 13, 2001

Amsterdam, July 12, 2001 - "The international committee for defense of Slobodan Milosevic" will, on behalf of the former Yugoslav president who is imprisoned at The Hague, ask the Dutch court to reconsider the legality of Milosevic's arrest in Yugoslavia and his stay at The Hague detention centre.

"Dutch law allows the possibility of appeal if you are brought to The Netherlands under illegal circumstances", stated Canadian attorney Christopher Black who represented himself as "legal representative" of Milosevic. He could not be precise as to which paragraph of Dutch law allows that possibility, but he announced that in cooperation with Dutch lawyers in the next three weeks they will come up with a petition to allow Milosevic to have a hearing before the Dutch court.

Black says that Milosevic's arrest in the FRY is "a common kidnapping" and that he is now imprisoned in "the illegally founded tribunal", states SENSE.
