July 09, 2001

Belgrade, July 8, 2001 (Tanjug) - Norwegian actress Geddy Aniksdal won the gold bracelet "Maja Dimitrijevic" for the best monodrama at the 26th festival of monodrama and pantomime in Zemun. She performed the play "Blue is the smoke of war". The gold bracelet for pantomime was awarded to Mexican artist Horacio Salinas, for the play "Lah-Cho".

The audience's award was given to Svetlana Bojkovic for her monodrama "Verica under the plums".

Proclamation of the winners and presentation of awards, in the Chamber opera of "Madlenianum" in Zemun, marked the end of the 26th festival of monodrama and pantomime, which began on July 5, and at which 15 plays had been performed.

The President of the professional team Muharem Pervic pointed out that short-listed candidates were actors Nebojsa Savic, Nenad Pecinar, as well as the guest from England Simon Day.

Ljubivoje Tadic, the director of the National Theatre, closed the festival, thanking his colleagues, as well as the audience who had patience "for one-actor theatre, which demands special poetic and aesthetic feelings, and presents a moment of truth between the actor and the audience."
