A hundred-odd projects by the Serbia Electric Power Industry (EPS) June 27, 2001
The Director of the Development and Investment Directorate of the EPS, Ljubomir Macic told Tanjug today that the cost of the proposed projects amounted to about $500 m. He also said that one of the priorities was the opening of new opencast mines at the "Kolubara". Given the present situation, no less important for the EPS are the requests for electric power import for the coming winter, list of the necessary spare parts for the repair works at hydro and thermo power plants, transmission grid construction. The package of the proposed projects contains as well solutions to the problems of environment protection and energetic efficiency boosting, said Macic and he added that the Ministry of International Economic Relations would make the final decision on the programmes to be financially supported and presented at the Brussels Conference.
