Belgrade, May 10 (Tanjug) - The exhibition of paintings of Djordje Krstic, one of the greatest representatives of Serbian art, was opened at the Belgrade National Museum late Thursday on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the painter's birth.

Nikola Kusovac is the author of the exhibition which comprises 90 oil paintings.

Miodrag Jovanovic, a professor of art history at the Belgrade Faculty of Philosophy, opened the exhibition and made a speech on this eminent Serb painter.

On the occasion of the Day of Museum, Serbian Assistant Culture Minister Jovan Despotovic donated the oldest manuscript of "Miroslav's Gospel" to the museum, voicing hope that the museum would retain its current position and role in Serbian culture.
