Belgrade, April 25 - Yugoslavia took the lead on the 19th minute. Marjan Markovic drove a free-kick through the wall after Nemanja Vucicevic was fouled.

The Russians took the initiative after the break and equalised on the 51st minute. Arshavin got through on the right and found Gogniev. The same player gave Russia the lead with 15 minutes to go.

Marjan Markovic's corner evaded Russian goalkeeper Mandrykin and Milan Dudic headed home with seven minutes remaining.
