Nice, FRANCE, April 17 - Yugoslavia is the winner of the 18th Eight-Nations-Tournament. In a close match the Olympic bronze medallist won the final match against Russia 7-6.

Viktor Jelenic scored three goals for the winner including two consecutive goals in the final quarter to bring to score to 7-5. It is Yugoslavia's first overall victory in this traditional men's waterpolo tournament.

Group A: YUGOSLAVIA - Netherlands 12-9
Group A: YUGOSLAVIA - Italy 11-6

Final standings in Group A: YUGOSLAVIA 6 points, Slovenia, Italy and Netherlands - two points all.

Semi-finals: YUGOSLAVIA - Romania 12-6

FINAL: YUGOSLAVIA - Russia 7-6 (2-1, 1-2, 2-1, 2-2). Scorers: Jelenic (3), Uskokovic (2) and Sapic (2) for Yugoslavia; Aksenov (1), Erychov (1), Garbouzov (1), Kozlov (1), Panfili (1) and Zakirov (1) for Russia.

Aleksandar Sapic (Yugoslavia) was the top scorer at the Eight-Nations-Tournament. The player from the reigning Champions League winner Becej (Yugoslavia) scored 17 goals in five matches.
