Triumph of Sombor singers in Budapest

BUDAPEST, April 12 (Tanjug) - The Sombor vocal group under Sylvester Hainal's baton triumphed in a competition of fifty or so choirs from 19 countries in Budapest winning three gold medals and two " grand prix".

During the 4 - day competition singers from Sombor presented themselves to the audience and international jury with the works of Stevan Mokranjac, Konstantin Babic, Aleksandar Vujic, Sergey Rachmaninov and other composers.

In the competition of male, female, mixed, children and folklore choirs the performances of a High School male choir from Novi Sad and of a mixed Choir from Backa Palanka were most outstanding.
