A cessation of warfare

Merdare, March 13 (Tanjug) - The NATO Secretary-General George Robertson's special envoy Peter Feith stated last evening that a ceasefire agreement, which was signed in Konculj, comes into effect early on Tuesday, a minute after midnight.

The Commander of KFOR forces in Kosovo and Metohija General Carlo Cabigiosu said that members of the Yugoslav army would enter a section of the Ground Safety Zone which includes a 25-square-km (5km x 5km) and that the soldiers would begin deploying there in a next few days.

"The purpose is to allow the legitimate authorities to restore order in that area", Cabigiosu said after signing the agreement on the YA's return to the Zone, with Army's representative Lieutenant Colonel Ninoslav Krstic at Merdare yesterday afternoon.

Sejdulah Kadriu member of the Political Council that supports the extremists said that ethnic Albanians would honor the ceasefire until March 19, while preparations for resuming talks will be made during this week.
