The inventory of inhabitants, households and flats in 2001
January 20, 2001

The seventh census
The seventh census
Beograd, January 19 (Tanjug) - From the 1st to 15th of April 2001, the regular inventory of inhabitants, households and flats would be made in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) reported today.

The forthcoming inventory is the seventh one in the after-war period and it is conceived in order to ensure continuity and comparability of the inventorial results with the previous ones.

The inventory will include the citizens of the FRY, foreign citizens and persons without the citizenship who have been living in our country for at least a year now.

The persons who took a refuge in the FRY from the former FRY republics and neither have home nor the Yugoslav citizenship would also be included in the inventory.

The inventory would establish the number of inhabitants, households and flats and their placement according to the international statistical recommendations.

Special attention would be paid to the information on forced emigrational flows of the inhabitants (migrated from the territory of the former FRY and displaced from Kosovo and Metohija).

Its objective is to include all inhabitants of the FRY as completely as possible, thus the making of the inventory of the Yugoslav citizens working and living abroad is planned.

From the 1st of February to 20th of March 2001 the collecting of the inventorial data about these citizens would be organized.

It is planned to distribute inventorial forms through the diplomatic-consular branches that will provide our citizens with the access to the inventorial material.
