Svetislav Pesic - the new Yugoslav general manager

Belgrade, January 12 - The Yugoslav Basketball Federation officially named today in Belgrade the well-known expert Svetislav Pesic as the new general manager of the men's basketball national team in the forthcoming four-year period.

Pesic was born in Pirot, in 1949. He was a basketball player in his hometown, than in Belgrade Partizan and in Sarajevo Bosna, and won the State Championship, the Yugoslav Cup and the European Champions' Cup.

After his career as a basketball player completed, he devoted himself to a coach profession. He was the general manager of the junior Yugoslav national team who won the title of the World Champions in 1989.

As a coach of the German national team Pesic won the European Championship in 1993.

He coached, with great success, Alba team from Berlin
