In the longest game at the European Championship, Yugoslav team managed to win Macedonia after four periods of extra time. After 60 minutes of playing the result was tied (29-29), although Macedonia had four goals more (15-11) at the end of the first half. Yugoslavia took the lead in the periods of extra time of 38-35. The combative opponents managed to tie the result, but the "girls in blue" reached the victory and seventh place at the championship thanks to Bojana Petrovic's goal in the very last minute.
