			Alisa Maric defeated in semi-final December 11, 2000 Alisa Maric New Delhi, December 10 - Alisa Maric did not manage to qualify for the final of the First Women's World Chess Championship. In the return game of semi final with Chinese Qin Kanying, the best Yugoslav female chess player took a position, which, with careful play, would give her victory and playing in a tiebreak. Maric, however, made a big oversight, allowing Chinese to win a draw after 70 moves and place in the finals with the final score 1,5:0,5.
