Serbian Polling Committee establishes working methods
October 31, 2000



Belgrade, October 30 - Serbian Polling Committee in charge of holding elections for Serbian National Assembly deputies scheduled for December 23 this year held its first session today and established working methods, it is said in the statement issued by the Parliament Press Service.

It was assessed that the approaching elections require active participation of all subjects of electoral system, which is why the Committee has made the plan of activities in the forthcoming period.

The Committee has adopted the Book of Regulations of the Serbian Polling Committee activities which precisely determines activities and acts in the course of the pre-electoral and electoral period.

The Committee has also adopted Instructions on the enforcement of the Law on elections of National Parliament deputies, Regulations of electoral boards activities and deadlines for carrying out electoral activities regarding elections for Serbian National Assembly deputies in the year 2000.

It was said that the holding of the forthcoming elections requires full cooperation with all bodies, organizations and mass media.

The Committee has also discussed other issues within its competence, it is said in the statement.
