Belgrade, August 13 - Yugoslav water polo national team won "Yugoslav Trophy 2000" international tournament by defeating the Italian national team 8-6 (4-1, 2-3, 1-1, 1-1) in the final match in Belgrade this evening.

Yugoslavs were dominant in the course of this entire exciting match against the traditional opponent, the Italian national team. Apart from brilliant collective play, superior saves from goalkeeper Nikola Kuljaca should be underscored. Both teams showed high-quality water polo in the match.

YUGOSLAVIA: Sostar, Trbojevic 2, Kuljaca, Zimonjic, Savic 1 (1), Ikodinovic 1, Jelenic, Uskokovic, Ciric 1, Sapic 1, Maljkovic 1, Vukanic, Vasovic 1.

ITALY: Atollico, Postiglone 1, Binchi 1, Bencivenga, Mamarella, Mandiante, Vitoriozo, Angelini 1, Pomilio 1, A. Calcatera, Satani, Filipo 1, Gibelini 1.

Penalties: Jugoslavija 1/1.

Goals in man-up: Yugoslavia 2/4, Italy 4/7.

Third place match: Australia - Netherlands 8-4 (3-1, 1-1, 1-2, 3-0)
Fifth place match: Russia - Greece 8-3 (2-0, 2-1, 1-1, 3-1)
Seventh place match: Yugoslavia B - Romania 7-5 (2-2, 3-1, 1-2, 1-0).
