Yugoslavia wins third place
August 07, 2000



Genoa, Italy, August 6 - The Yugoslav water polo national selection finished the third tournament in group A of the European League in Genoa by defeating Greece (12-5). Savic, Jelenic and Sapic each scored two goals for Yugoslavia, while Trbojevic, Zimonjic, Uskokovic, Vujasinovic, Nikolic and Vasovic scored one goal each.

The Italian team won the tournament, Russia were second, Yugoslavia third. After three tournaments of the European League, Yugoslavia is still first on the standings.

The last tournament in group A of this year's competition in the European League is to be held in Yugoslavia from August 9 to 11 in the town of Krusevac, and from August 12 to 13 in Belgrade.
