ZLATIBOR - PARTIZANSKE VODE
Partizanske Vode is a tourist resort on Mount Zlatibor, in the western
part of Serbia. It is one of the most popular resorts in Yugoslavia. By road
and rail it is connected with Uzice and Nova Varos. It lies on the road
linking Belgrade with the Montenegrin littoral and off the Belgrade-Bar
railway. Situated at an altitude of just over 1.000 meters, Partizanske Vode
is also a climatic resort, characterised by a cool mountain climate, clean
air, long periods of sunshine during the summer and a heavy snow cover in
winter. Tourist facilities include modern hotels, holiday centers and
cottages, sports grounds and ski-lifts.
Medical services are provided by the staff of the Special Institute for
the Prevention and Treatment of Thyroid Gland Disorders and the
Rehabilitation of Patients. Modern methods of treatment are used including:
ultrasound techniques, stimulators, diathermy and iodized and galvanic
baths. Notable successes have been achieved in the prevention, diagnosis,
treatment and rehabilitation of different kinds and stages of thyroid gland
diseases.

EXCURSION: to Uzice, Kadinjaca, Mount Tara, Perucac Lake,
Mount Zlatar and the lake at its foot, and to the village of Sirogojno
renowned for its knitwear products and home-made souvenirs.
