VRUJCI
Banja Vrujci is a spa situated in the Valjevo Podgorina district, at the
feet of Mts. Suvobor and Maljen, in the valley of the river Toplica, off the
road between Mionica and Ljig, 92 km south-west of Belgrade. Its altitude
varies from 179 to 252 metres a.s.l., making it one of the lowest spas in
Serbia.
The spa has six mineral water springs and sources of curative mud. The
mineral water is slightly radioactive and its temerature is 26-270 C.
MEDICAL INDICATIONS: The mineral water and mud packs are used for the
treatment of rheumatism, gynaecological diseases, anaemia, kidney and
urinary tract stone, skin diseases, towards quicker healing of wounds and
for eye rinsing.
ACCOMMODATION: Tourists can find accomodation in the Vrujci Hotel,
B-category, 170 beds, with an indoor swimming pool filed with mineral water
and four boots with four tubs in each for hydrotherapy. The hotel has an
annexe with 108 beds and three outdoor swimming pools. A rehabilitation
centre with a medical station and pharmacy is situated close to the hotel.
The houses of the villagers living in the vicinity of this spa are
equipped for the accommodation of guestes. The locality boasts a picturesque
landscape and forests in which diffrent species of trees grow. The mountains
of the Valjevo district are suitable for hunting tourism and river Kolubara
and Lepenica in the spa's immediate neighbourhood.
EXCURSION: This is also a popular excursion site, especially in summer,
when the spa's outdoor swimming pools attract a lot of visitors.
