KANJIZA
Banja Kanjiza is on the river Tisa, in the north of Vojvodina, close to
the Yugoslav-Hungarian border. It is 83 m above sea level, 22 km from Senta,
40 km from Subotica, 130 km from Novi Sad and 205 km from Belgrade. It first
became known as a health resort at the beginning of this century when it was
called the 'Kanjiza Miracle Well'. Today it is the most frequented and
best-equipped spa resort in Vojvodina.
The mineral water is obtained from artesian wells and ranges in
temperature from 27 degrees C to 51 degrees C. The water is rich in sodium,
potassium, magnesium, chlorine, sulphates and phosphates. The curative
methods involve bathing, inhalation, mud packs and mud baths. The spa
includes modern laboratories, treatment rooms, a sauna, a gymnasium, two
indoor pools, special tubs, and other facilities and buildings.
MEDICAL INDICATIONS: The spa is recommended for the treatment of
rheumatism, conditions following surgery of the spine, damage to the
peripheral nervous system, sterility, gynaecological diseases, and reduced
work and psychophysical capacity.

EXCURSION: There are opportunities for hunting in the vicinity of
Kanjiza and for fishing on the river Tisa. Excursions to Lake Palic and
Subotica.
